Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I care for my permanent jewelry piece?

Gold Filled and Sterling Silver chains and charms are built to last a long time with normal wear and tear. However, depending on outside influences, that longevity can quickly be shortened.

Exposing your chain and charms to outside elements will wear them down quickly. Chemicals like sulfur in water, self tanner, chlorine, salt water and more will break down your metals quicker. Avoid harsh chemicals when possible.

The recommendation for protection is to minimize the exposure of chemicals of any kind to the chain and charms. Avoid self tanners are these may cause staining (mainly enamel and Sterling Silver).

It’s common and usual for Sterling Silver to oxidize if not cared for properly. To clean your Sterling Silver metals, use warm water and dish soap or a quality jewelry cleaner, such as Goddards or Tarn-X Cleaning Solution.

Will I be able to wear my permanent jewelry piece going through TSA at airports?

Yes! Permanent Jewelry is completely fine going though TSA at airports. You should never have an issue with this.

Can I wear my permanent jewelry piece while having medical imaging done (MRI, Cat-scan, X-Ray, etc.)?

Maybe. This depends on the area of the body that’s having imaging done and on the doctor/technicians performing the medical imaging.

What should I do if my permanent jewelry piece needs to be removed?

You can remove your piece yourself or with the help of another person (which I highly recommend). Examine your piece and find the jump ring (small metal circle that connects the two ends of the chain together). Using wire cutters (small or micro cutters work best), cut the jump ring. Using two needle nose pliers, twist the jump ring to open it, and slide the ends of the chain off. If you do no have the tools or desire to remove your piece on your own, please feel free to contact me using the form below, and I’d be happy to remove your piece at no charge. If you save the chain, and it’s still in good condition, I’d be happy to re-weld your Ginny & Poppy Jewelry piece again at no charge.

My permanent jewelry piece fell off. Why did this happen?

Sometimes a chain may get caught on something, or the chain may not have been the correct size. If your chain got caught on something, it’s a good thing that it broke, which prevented injury to you! If the chain broke at the jump ring and the chain is still in good condition, I will be happy to re-weld your Ginny & Poppy Jewelry piece at no charge. If the chain itself broke but it’s still in good condition, I will be happy to re-weld your Ginny & Poppy Jewelry piece utilizing another jump ring at no charge; if this doesn’t seem like a good option for you, I will replace the chain or you can choose a new one and I will give you a 15% discount.

What if I’m not satisfied with my purchase?

I’d love to work with you to understand why this is the case. Customer satisfaction is very important to me. I’d be happy to give you a refund or exchange your piece for another, but please note that all refunds and exchanges must be completed within 30 days from purchase.

I’d like to purchase a permanent jewelry piece but I’m not interested in purchasing from your Etsy shop, do not want to host a party and am unable to attend one of your upcoming popup events. Can I make a one-on-one appointment with you?

Yes! At this time, I do not have a studio, but I’d be happy to work with you to set up a day, time and place for us to meet. Please complete form below to get in contact with me.
